Layout - The preliminary arrangement showing position, size, color, and other details of the final design.
Leader - Dots or dashes that lead the eye across a line, usually to fill the place of a tab or indent.
Leading - The spacing between lines. Leading is measured in points from baseline to baseline.
Lenticular - A three-dimensional, or motion effect created on a flat surface achieved by superimposing a grooved plastic sheet over printed material.
Letter of Intent - a letter defining the terms of an agreement. It can be from a supplier to you, or from you to a supplier. When there is no contract, this is the next best thing. And if you generate the letter, you can make sure you are fully protected. Always respond to a letter of intent in writing, if the letter to you is not correct. A verbal response can easily be forgotten at a crucial later date.

Ligature - Typographic character produced by joining letters (fi, fl, ce, etc.)
Line Art - Art with no tonal values that can be reproduced without conversion to halftone.

Lining Figures - Number that have the same height and baseline as capital letters: also called modern figures 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.
Lithography - Printing term for offset printed paper.
Litho-laminating - Printing term for mounting a lithographed sheet to single-face corrugated material to produce retail-ready POS display pieces.
Logo - A graphic mark or emblem commonly used by commercial enterprises, organizations and even individuals to aid and promote instant public recognition. Logos are either purely graphic (symbols/icons) or are composed of the name of the organization (a logotype or wordmark).
